The annual Moore Park Beach Festival Art Competition and Bazaar is a
highlight of the Wide Bay/Burnett Region's cultural scene.
From Friday 7th to Sunday 9th August 2015, the public will enjoy a
fun-filled family weekend.
Planning is underway to make this year's festival a great event for
the public, and the organisers are expecting that this year will be
even better than last year. Keep an eye on this site for further
details of the festival, and also for any social events that the
committee is planning to assist with fundraising for the festival.
School participation has always been a big part of the festival with
many of the local schools participating in the Art programme as well
as providing art in the form of music on the Friday morning. 2015 will
be no exception with school bands giving a free concert on the grassed
area of the Community Hall. The concert is open to the public and we
hope that many will come and support these young musicians as they
enjoy performing their music. Thanks go to teachers and parents for
their support of this important part of the weekend.
A new feature this year will be
Children's Kite-Making Workshops
held in a marquee at Bob Nielson Park on both Saturday and Sunday
betweem 10am and 2pm, so we are asking parents to book their children
in for this workshop. It is only $5.50 per child for a kit, and after
the workshop they will learn how to fly their kites. For more
information or for bookings, please contact Muriel on 0407 598 017 or
Deann on 4159 8917.
Also this year for the first time, anyone who books and attends our
Official Opening Night, books a Market Site or a Bazaar Stall, enters
the Art Competition (except children), or buys more than $10 worth of
Raffle Tickets, will have their name automatically entered into our
draw for 5 nights for 2 people
at The Chevron Palms Motel, Gold Coast.
Moore Park Beach Arts Inc wishes to thank all our supporters for their
generous support and assistance for the upcoming 2015 Moore Park Beach
Festival Art Competition and Bazaar, without which the festival could
not proceed and be the great event it always is.
This year, there will again be a fireworks display on the Saturday evening.
The display will be presented by Skylighter Fireworks. This is a Queensland company who
have extensive experience and have put on displays around Australia.
